Click Speed Test

How fast can you click? Choose a duration and click or tap the test area as quickly as possible.

Test duration

Choose your challenge

Use a mouse, trackpad, stylus, or touchscreen. Keyboard presses do not count toward CPS.

Understanding the test

What is CPS?

CPS stands for Clicks Per Second. It is a simple rate: the number of valid mouse, trackpad, stylus, or touchscreen inputs made inside the test surface during a fixed time. It is most useful for comparing your own attempts under similar conditions.

How this test works

Choose 5, 10, or 30 seconds. Your first click or tap counts as click one and starts the high-resolution timer immediately. Every subsequent pointer input inside the surface counts until the exact duration boundary. The completed count is then divided by the selected duration.

The calculation

How is CPS calculated?

ReflexMint uses the configured duration as the final denominator for a normally completed test. A result with 42 valid clicks in the five-second mode is:

42 clicks ÷ 5 seconds = 8.4 CPS

Does test duration matter?

Yes. Five seconds emphasizes maximum burst speed, while ten seconds adds rhythm and thirty seconds measures a more sustained pace. ReflexMint keeps separate personal records for each duration so unlike tests are not mixed.

Context matters

Why can click speed differ?

Input hardware. Mouse switches, trackpads, touchscreens, and styluses have different physical feel and latency.

Polling and processing. Device reporting, the operating system, browser work, and background load can influence when input reaches the page.

Technique and fatigue. Grip, finger choice, rhythm, and test length affect a sustainable pace.

Improve consistency

Tips for reliable comparisons

  • Use the same duration, device, browser, and input method when comparing attempts.
  • Keep the device stable and choose a comfortable hand position before starting.
  • Close demanding background applications that may interrupt browser input.
  • Aim for a controlled rhythm instead of tensing your hand for one unusually fast run.
  • Stop and rest if you feel discomfort; repeated clicking should never be painful.
This benchmark is for general comparison and entertainment. Results depend on hardware, input method, browser behavior, technique, and comfort. It is not a medical or diagnostic test.

Common questions

Click Speed FAQ

What is CPS?+

CPS means clicks per second. It expresses how many valid pointer clicks or taps you complete, divided by the selected test duration.

What is a good CPS?+

ReflexMint labels 5–6.9 CPS as Good, 7–8.9 as Fast, and 9–11.9 as Very Fast. These are general benchmark labels rather than population rankings.

Is 10 CPS fast?+

A sustained 10 CPS falls in the Very Fast band used by this test. The same score may feel different across test durations and input devices.

Is clicking faster on a mouse than a phone?+

A mouse can make rapid repeated input easier for many people, but touchscreen latency, technique, device size, and individual comfort all matter.

Does mouse polling rate affect CPS?+

Polling rate can affect how often a mouse reports input, although browser processing, operating-system settings, and the mouse switch also contribute.

Why is my 5-second score higher than my 30-second score?+

Five-second tests favor a short burst. Thirty-second tests require sustained pace, so fatigue and rhythm have more time to influence the result.

How is CPS calculated?+

The completed click count is divided by the configured duration. For example, 42 clicks divided by 5 seconds equals 8.4 CPS.
